Burkhardt emphasized that English-language standards have been in place for decades and that roadway safety depends on every part of the system, including training providers, licensing agencies, examiners, motor carriers, and enforcement officials, upholding established requirements. Industry demand cannot supersede safety standards. Consistent enforcement of existing law is essential to ensuring that only properly trained, tested, licensed, and qualified drivers operate commercial vehicles.
