CVTA Featured on National Syndicated Lars Larson Radio Show

CVTA Executive Director Andrew Poliakoff recently appeared on The Lars Larson Show, a nationally syndicated program, to discuss the integrity of commercial driver training and the work of CVTA’s ELDT Task Force. The interview highlighted efforts to reduce the gap between federal training standards and enforcement, and their impact on safety and workforce quality.

Poliakoff discussed CVTA’s partnership with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to improve oversight of the Training Provider Registry and ensure meaningful enforcement of Entry-Level Driver Training standards. He noted that CVTA members consistently deliver high-quality, ELDT-compliant programs with qualified instructors, structured curricula, and hands-on skill development, setting the standard for responsible training and producing safe, job-ready drivers.

Poliakoff commended the U.S. Department of Transportation and FMCSA for enforcement that takes non-compliant providers out of operation. He emphasized that weak enforcement undermines legitimate schools, misleads students, and compromises public safety. CVTA will continue to work with federal regulators for accountability, consistent enforcement, and a regulatory environment that supports quality training and highway safety.
