CVTA Community Featured on SiriusXM: Angela Stevens, Marilyn Surber and Andrew Poliakoff Join Ellen Voie's WIT Broadcast; Airing Sat & Sun 7amEST & 3pmEST

ree

Earlier this week, CVTA’s Executive Director, Andrew Poliakoff, stopped by SiriusXM’s Women In Trucking Show to talk with Ellen Voie about the issues shaping our industry. The conversation ranged from the urgent need for more vigorous enforcement of Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) standards, to the exciting lineup of speakers at CVTA's 2025 Fall Conference in Phoenix, to new ideas moving trucking forward.

The SiriusXM show featured several familiar voices. Angela Horowitz of Stevens Transport shared her perspective on driver recruitment and other issues related to the upcoming panel on English Language Proficiency at CVTA's Fall Conference.

Marlyn Surber of Drivers Legal Plan discussed the evolving challenges around drug testing in transportation; another topic she’ll bring to the conference stage this fall.

For CVTA members, these conversations aren’t just interesting—they’re a reminder of why our work matters. Enforcing training standards isn’t about paperwork or process; it’s about making sure every student gets a fair shot, every carrier can hire a well-prepared driver, and every family driving alongside a tractor-trailer can trust that the person behind the wheel is appropriately trained.

We’re proud that CVTA is leading this charge, and we’re equally pleased to share the stage with industry voices who are shaping trucking’s future. CVTA looks forward to hear from Women in Trucking's President & CEO, Jennifer Hedrick at the upcoming conference!
