CVTA Board Member Tim Kordula Speaks on Opportunities in the Workforce

CVTA is proud to highlight Board Member Tim Kordula’s conversation on the Bay Cities Connect podcast to discuss strong training standards, responsible program oversight, and the future of workforce opportunities. Representing Verhia, Kordula outlined his team’s mission to develop a high-quality commercial licensing program that strictly complies with federal requirements. He emphasized that Verhia’s training model is built on federal mandates, with no shortcuts or deviations from standards that protect students, employers, and the public.

The discussion also touched on the broader training landscape, allowing Kordula to highlight what sets strong programs apart. He emphasized Verhia’s commitment to welcoming trainees of all ages and backgrounds who are ready to meet the standards and do the work. By focusing on thorough instruction, consistency, and true proficiency, his program helps ensure that more fully prepared, professional drivers are entering the industry.

As WIOA reauthorization discussions continue, Kordula reiterated that compliance, accountability, and quality training must remain central to any federal workforce investment. His remarks reflect CVTA’s position: programs that follow the rules should be supported, while those that cut corners must be held accountable.
