Last week, CVTA Executive Director Andrew Poliakoff presented at the 2026 NASASPS
Annual Conference in Dallas with FMCSA Deputy Administrator Jesse Elison and Crystal Puderbaugh of the Kansas Board of Regents. The breakout session attracted about three dozen non-SDLA regulators focused on supporting TPR enforcement in their states.
The session addressed the CVTA ELDT Task Force’s efforts, the need for broader state involvement in TPR enforcement, and FMCSA’s recognition that further engagement with non-SDLA agencies is necessary. FMCSA also indicated interest in having CVTA serve as a resource and intermediary for non-SDLA recommendations and communications.
Two immediate action items resulted from the session: CVTA will share FMCSA regional office contact information with NASASPS member agencies and has requested that FMCSA provide the List of Removed Providers as a searchable, exportable file.
For CVTA, Dallas reinforced that enforcement progress requires collaboration beyond Washington. The work will continue at the PTDI Training Provider Safety Summit on September 16, 2026, in Dallas, where state licensing agencies, FMCSA, and industry stakeholders will continue these discussions. Travel costs are covered by a USDOT/FMCSA grant.
