CVTA is monitoring developments following a November 14 multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Boone County, Indiana. This accident resulted in the death of Indiana National Guardsman Spc. Terry Frye. One of the drivers involved, Goderdzi Gujabidze of New York, was operating a car-hauler truck and was later transferred to ICE custody after a detainer was issued during the initial investigation. Records indicate he entered the United States in 2022 and held a non-domiciled New York CDL issued in December 2023. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by federal and local authorities. CVTA will continue to track updates on licensing, enforcement actions, and any regulatory implications that emerge.
